Why this site exists
Writing worth the time it takes to read
The Blog Story is an independent blog with many writers. People publish articles and essays here, each piece credited to whoever wrote it, and anyone can read them — no account needed, and no paywall.
It exists for a plain reason: writing worth reading is harder to find than it should be, and a great deal of what a reader lands on now is built for something other than being read. This site is put together the other way round — a clean reading column, the writer's name at the top of it, and the work given room.
You only need an account to publish, or to save something to read later. Reading stays open to everyone, including people who never sign up.

Who writes here, and on what terms
Anyone can create a free account and submit work here, which is deliberate — the range of what appears on the site comes from the range of people writing it. Every blog is reviewed by an administrator before it is published, but responsibility for an article still sits squarely with the person who wrote it.
Contributors are named on their work
Every article carries the name of the person who wrote it, shown with the article itself.
The author is responsible for the article
Its originality, and the accuracy of what it says, are theirs to stand behind — including the right to publish anything quoted and any image used.

What the writing here has to do
These apply to the writing itself and to everything around it — titles, excerpts, tags, categories and images.
Original and useful
Write your own work, and leave the reader with something they did not have before.
Accurate and responsible
Say where a claim comes from. When something turns out to be wrong, correct it or take it down.
Clear and readable
Plain structure, honest headings, and no padding added to reach a length.
How this is actually checked
Every post is reviewed before it is published
Writers submit their work, and an administrator reviews every new blog — and every change to one that is already published — before it becomes visible on the site. This is what happens.
Reviewed before it goes live
All new blogs and updates are reviewed by the Admin before they become live. A writer submits a post for review, and it is published only once an administrator approves it.
Changes are reviewed too
Changes to an already published blog are reviewed before they replace the currently live version. Until then readers keep seeing the approved version, and a rejection comes with feedback the writer can act on.
Reports reach a person
Anything a reader reports goes to a moderation queue and is read by a person. Whoever reported it is told what happened to it.
Advertising is approved separately
