The Blog Story
Last updated: August 2026
Subscriptions on The Blog Story mean email updates — being told when new writing appears. They are the only kind of subscription the platform has.
There are no paid plans, no premium tiers and no paywalls. Reading, writing, publishing and subscribing all cost nothing. The site does not collect payment details, does not process payments, and has no billing or recurring-charge system, so there is nothing to be charged for and nothing to cancel other than the emails themselves.
Separately from these, we always send transactional email that is part of running your account: address verification, password resets, email-change confirmations, and security or account-status notices. These are not marketing and cannot be unsubscribed from while your account exists.
Subscribing sends a confirmation link to the address you entered. The subscription only starts once you click it. This protects people from being signed up by someone else. For privacy, our response to a subscribe request never reveals whether an address is already subscribed.
For a subscription we store the email address, what it is subscribed to, whether it was confirmed, and when. We do not sell or rent subscriber addresses, and we do not send other people's marketing to them. See the Privacy Policy for the full picture.
We cannot guarantee delivery — mail providers may filter or delay messages, and addresses that bounce repeatedly may be dropped to protect deliverability for everyone. If you stop receiving expected emails, check your spam folder first, then contact us.
We may change what these subscriptions include or how often they are sent. If a change is significant we will say so in the emails themselves, and you can unsubscribe at any time.
